As part of this year's General Assembly of the European Welding Association EWA, the election of the President was also on the agenda. The fact that I was re-elected after a two-year term confirms that my commitment to welding technology is going in the right direction and is considered forward-looking.
The focal points I have been working for since before my first presidency are, on the one hand, health and safety at work in welding. On the other hand, it is my ever-present personal concern to make welding technology more attractive for young people as well. As President of the European Welding Association, I have extensive opportunities to further pursue these important goals.
"Emil Schubert presented an impressive activity report with all the achievements of the association in the last year," highlights Sibylle Robert, Group Manager at EVOLIS SYMOP. The election of the president was held immediately afterwards and 100 percent of the participants voted for me to hold this office for another two years. I am very pleased that so much trust is placed in me and that I can continue to serve as President of the European Welding Association.
For ABICOR BINZEL, this means that we are on the right track with our strategy: Offering products that make welding easier, for example through automation, as well as safer and cleaner, for example through extraction technology.
As President of the EWA, I am committed to a valuable exchange among colleagues and to initiating important projects. My wish for the future years is to make further progress in science and occupational medicine so that welders can work under healthy working conditions.
The European Welding Association is an industry association for European manufacturers of welding equipment and filler materials and was founded in 1987. Member companies of the EWA benefit from a valuable platform where they can exchange ideas and experiences with their colleagues in the industry. Expert groups with different focal points deal with the further development of the welding technology industry. For several years now, I have been actively involved in the areas of "health & safety" and "welding wquipment" in the European Welding Association. I am very much looking forward to the many further activities.
