My younger fan community thrives on short infos in video format. For the older ones among you, this is often new territory. I don't take myself out of that. We are talking about so-called "shorts", short videos with a maximum length of 60 seconds. You can now also see me in these. I want to make knowledge also accessible to all those who want to get information quickly.
What are YouTube shorts?
Shorts are based on the principle of the online platform TikTok and are short videos in portrait format that are no longer than 60 seconds. This makes them ideal for viewing on mobile devices, 90 % of which are used in portrait mode.
They are very popular because a lot of information is available in a very short time. This allows you to reach many users of social media platforms whose attention span is getting shorter and shorter. Shorts are often shared and in this way also reach other accounts of users who are not subscribed to the creator's channel.
Even though full knowledge transfer cannot take place within 60 seconds, shorts are excellent for providing food for thought, making people curious and winning them over to specific topics. To share my passion for technology, science and materials science with as many people as possible, I am open to any current medium.
My mission
Where did welding technology originate? How has technology in MIG/MAG, TIG, plasma and laser welding processes evolved? What challenges does physics always pose for the developers? When does the technology reach its limits? What role do people and the environment play in the development of new products? Where is welding technology heading in the future? These and similar questions occupy me not only as WELDPROF®. Therefore, regular exchange with international experts, following studies and initiating and accompanying studies myself is a natural part of my work. A heartfelt desire, so to speak.
But I'm also happy to answer everyday questions about welding by communicating product, process and application knowledge in a comprehensible way on my website in a wide variety of formats and by broadening the perspective. Communicating at eye level is one of my strengths, I dare to say at this point. In any case, I get feedback from the welding specialist as well as from the academic expert colleagues that I am an appreciative discussion partner. This always makes me very happy, after all, you can't get enough people excited about welding technology and science.
Be inspired by my shorts and feel free to check out my WELDPROF® YouTube channel.
Are you interested in special topics?
In general, every visitor to the WELDPROF® website can ask me specific questions via »Ask the WELDPROF®«. I am happy to answer them by e-mail or in one of my video formats. Interaction with interested parties from the world of welding and joining technology is expressly desired!
